Sleepy Bee in Garden today

Hi

i have just found this bee in my garden-a veritable whopper.

Does she/he need to go somewhere for the winter?

S/he has yellow ?pollen on one of her/his right legs

If the bee seems somewhat imobile and you can place her somewhere sunny that will help her get moving, or even offer her some honey - generally bumble bees like this, and at this time of the year, know where they will over-winter, if they can get there (their strength is sapped by cold/ wet)

You should not feed it honey. You may instead offer the bee a solution of clean sugar water (do NOT use artificial or diet sweeteners or demerera sugar). If you have organic sugar, this is better. The ration of sugar to water should be about 1:2 (i.e. one spoon of sugar to two spoons of water). this is a useful link:

Please don't offer her honey, even if it's organic. It may contain viruses. Bees should only have honey from their own colony.

A drop or two of sugar syrup is best, made from white sugar, not brown, which can give them dysentery.
