Water birth talk at Kings

Random question! But does anyone know how long the water birth talk at Kings lasts for? Thanks!

about 1,5h. at least last December it was that long.

When we went in August it was about an hour; they're available for questions too as I'd say it could go up to about 1.5. We thought it was very good and used it for part of the birth of our daughter. Great rooms!

Thanks both. In case anyone else is wondering I went this week and it does take about an hour with a chance to look round afterwards if rooms are free so could take up to hour and half if you decide to hang around for all the questions! It was very informative though.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a water birth at kings in the normal labour rooms? As in not in the new midwife led birthing suite?

Yes, if they are free. I think there are two rooms with birthing pools in situ and one portable one...unless that's changed since the birthing suite came on the scene.

We did the tour a couple of weeks ago. There current policy is only water birth available in the 2 midwife led rooms. They are not using on labour ward anymore. I don't know how set in stone that is though.

Oh that's disappointing to hear Melihoople but thank you! I'll have to ask my midwife...not seeing her for a few more weeks. I wonder why, if as I believe, they had two plumbed in pools in the nightingale, they would move them? Money saving on pools for the new suite maybe....
