Your chances are so small as to think you might not bother. You grow up in rainly small town Scotland with zero previous sporting history, survive the trauma of the Dunblane massacre, spend hundreds of days practicing on a peeling public tennis court, and undertake many hard years of training to rise up to decent junior level. Onc=e day you make Wimbledon..."come on Tim"...bullshit....and get to the second round. You compete well but still the pessimism. The papers, the doubters. You'll never win it. Then several more years of persistence, HARD SLOG training, a US grand slam win, an olympic gold medal and FINALLY.....you smash the doubters by winning the Mens Championship at the worlds greatest tennis competition.

And still. And still you have people giving it "AM wont win a grand slam final".

Personality aside....what more does AM have to do?

Like quite a few others I quite like the moodey, not too media trained old bugger. I'd never trust a scot who didn't say they wanted England to lose for starters

He should have popped up in the unpopular things you like thread really. Tough to win but reckon he will win tomorrow. 3-1. C'moan Murray. On the BBC early tomorrow.

Not bad

Labour/Lib Dem coaltion

Charles becomes King (King Phillip incidentally, has previously stated will change name, fact)

Southampton clinch fourth (Arsenal third...)

Iceland retains presence on LL

ED house prices up by 15%

England win six nations

Truely awful...

    • Is there there additional parking restrictions because of the country show? They apply every year: https://southlondon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/london-borough-of-lambeth-temporary-traffic-and-parking-restrictions-brockwell-park.pdf
    • There was a lot in Camberwell Old Cemetery.
    • True.  And I'll have a look online. Thank you for the explanation. I have just googled, and that is indeed the case with certain weeds. I had no idea that this could happen, so thank you.     The below is apparently all Southwark Council has to say. They don't say why they remove weeds, just that they do, and how. They've got a lot more to say about Japanese Knotweed, which does indeed cause problems, but which they don't remove! However I've never noticed any round here.
    • It's probably less of a priority for them than it appears to be for the OP! Nobody is saying that local businesses are not part of the community. But in the context of this thread, there is a clear distinction between local businesses set up to make a profit for individuals and local non profit organisations set up to help groups and individuals in the community. What has living in social housing got to do with anything? And who is forcing anybody to "accept a secondary definition" or telling anybody to "shut up"?
