mummydaddyme
Do any other parents send their children to any martial arts classes in East Dulwich? My boys were going to a judo class on a Wednesday afternoon at Dulwich Leisure centre and the guy who runs it was lovely but I wasn't sure if they were progressing as they should. Just wanted to see what else was out there. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53347-martial-arts-classes-in-ed/ Share on other sites
Cora
Recommend www.waltersfamilytaekwondo.com....daniel is a great role model....has just moved to The Bussey building in Peckham though...but worth it..right opposite Peckham Rye Station (opposite victors lab so you can do yoga while they do the taekwondo.....or a great basement bar nearby selling Vietnamese street food...makes the travel easier!) tutorse22
There are fantastic children's judo classes in Sydenham, at the new building on Wells Park Road. They're already quite heavily subscribed, but you could check whether there's any space. The teacher is Sensei Donna.http://www.britishjudo.org.uk/club?club=5070 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53347-martial-arts-classes-in-ed/#findComment-814066 Share on other sites
Moi23
My son does Taekwondo at Goodrich on Tuesday evenings. They have regular assessments, they can gain badges and work towards getting different colour belts. All at a fee of course, but my son's really motivated by it, particularly now that he can do sparring. They're called mazuki, the website is http://www.mazuki.com/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53347-martial-arts-classes-in-ed/#findComment-814118 Share on other sites
HannahSE23
I'd recommend Kung Fu at the United Church in Red Post Hill on Saturday mornings. My son loves it and feels very much part of a club. It's great for self defence and fitness but they also learn about discipline, respect and they meditate at the end of each class! They are graded regularly which keeps them motivated and the teacher, Richard, is brilliant. Mulligan
Yes I would recommend richard's fujan white crane Kung fu class. I have been doing the adult class for 12 years and as a teacher it does instil great discipline as well is improving flexibility, strength and fitness. He also does a children's class on Monday at 6.15pm. Check out his website for more details. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/53347-martial-arts-classes-in-ed/#findComment-815016 Share on other sites
