Banging pipes

Help. Neighbours pipes are banging/tapping intermittently all night. What is causing this? I can't sleep 😢 It's been happening for about 2 weeks now.

1)air bubbles

2)badly fitted / loose pipes

3)kettled system

so

1) bleed the rads and get the air outa them

2) pipes could be loose or not being given enough room to expand during heating

3) Limescale build up - serious ??? but rare ish - heat exchanger issue

as said sounds like air in the system do the rads get hot all over if air in there the top will be cooler than the rest of the rad .

Could also be weak bladder syndrome if they are flushing the toilet in the night. May be a need to change the ballcock on the toilet syphon.

If it's intermittent on hot / cold water pipes to taps it could be that they're not secured properly and it caused the banging.

Just cured this in my house after 4 annoying years !
