Hello parents from East Dulwich Forum,

We are a couple of theatre makers living in East Dulwich, with a background in acting, writing and directing. Trained in Central School of Speech and Drama (London), University of Vienna and the Theatre Institute of Barcelona.

We are planning to run a weekly theatre workshop for children (different age groups) with a focus in devising and creating theatre from an early age. We are interested in developing workshops with an inclusive atmosphere oriented to self-empowering children in taking their own decisions in a creative process.

This is a first attempt to see about possible interests from parents and children in the area. We would love to hear from you, please leave comments or questions in this post. You can also call us for a chat at 07580 236 843.

Thanks,

Florine and S?ren

PS: This picture was taken in a workshop of disabled and non disabled performers we facilitated at Festival 10 Sentidos of Valencia, October 2014.

Sounds interesting to me and something my 9 year old would love. We're turned off other dramatic art classes because of cost and time (Stagecoach is 3 hours I believe). So, anything a little more experimental really interests me.

Hi everyone and thanks for sharing your thoughts. It has been great to read all of your messages.

We are planning a casual get together this Friday 13th February at 6pm at our house. It will be a nice opportunity to meet and have a chat about the theatre workshops we are preparing. PM us to confirm assistance and we will send you the address (East Dulwich)

Please feel free to bring along anyone who might be interested.

We look forward to hearing from you and we will see you on Friday.

Thanks,

Florine and S?ren

    • As the days shorten having evening fireworks for e.g. birthday parties becomes more realistic, the idea that fireworks is only about Guy Fawkes day or New Year's Eve is not a rule. I personally do not like fireworks, but other do, and I would see no reason to stop other's pleasure. I am sure the local Puritans will object, and there are issues about disturbing wild life with unexpected noise. But I'm in favour of simple pleasures. And many do like fireworks.
    • That's great you have the cat! Sorry to interfere, and feel free to ignore this, but it might not be a great idea to post your mobile number on a public forum? You can message the owner on the forum via a private message.

    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
