Hello parents from East Dulwich Forum,

We are a couple of theatre makers living in East Dulwich, with a background in acting, writing and directing. Trained in Central School of Speech and Drama (London), University of Vienna and the Theatre Institute of Barcelona.

We are planning to run a weekly theatre workshop for children (different age groups) with a focus in devising and creating theatre from an early age. We are interested in developing workshops with an inclusive atmosphere oriented to self-empowering children in taking their own decisions in a creative process.

This is a first attempt to see about possible interests from parents and children in the area. We would love to hear from you, please leave comments or questions in this post. You can also call us for a chat at 07580 236 843.

Thanks,

Florine and S?ren

PS: This picture was taken in a workshop of disabled and non disabled performers we facilitated at Festival 10 Sentidos of Valencia, October 2014.

Sounds interesting to me and something my 9 year old would love. We're turned off other dramatic art classes because of cost and time (Stagecoach is 3 hours I believe). So, anything a little more experimental really interests me.

Hi everyone and thanks for sharing your thoughts. It has been great to read all of your messages.

We are planning a casual get together this Friday 13th February at 6pm at our house. It will be a nice opportunity to meet and have a chat about the theatre workshops we are preparing. PM us to confirm assistance and we will send you the address (East Dulwich)

Please feel free to bring along anyone who might be interested.

We look forward to hearing from you and we will see you on Friday.

Thanks,

Florine and S?ren

    • Ok. The thread title.    in my view the whole country has moved to the right since Brexit.  Brexit was always going to be the gateway to populism  you have a terrible voting system coupled with dreadful media which cowers almost any original thought. And the whole time you have the media and simpletons saying the U.K. under starmer is now some socialist gulag when starmer and co are largely imitating and implementing Tory policy from last 14 years a complete shitshow with no visible way out - it needs someone who a) has the bravery to face down opponents but crucially b) not be a loony populist    and I can’t see anyone who fits both (perhaps Ed Davey  but thanks to stupid voting system mentioned above he is doomed. The greens have a new charismatic but slightly odd leader but a party that is fundamentally divided by nimby fault lines  and then you have Corbyn and Sultana with usual brand of protest party, who will achieve nothing but pave a way for Tories/reform to take power)    the Tories are obviously demented. Having birthed and nurtured a fantasy like Brexit, it chewed through 5 leaders in almost as many years whilst throwing out or repulsing any sensible Tory.  And now have an absolute narcissistic fantasist as current leader with someone even worse (Jenryck) lined up behind her    so there we have it.  Sleep tight
    • In deed, and whatever we think there was great popular support for his more extreme views - feels like history is repeating itself.  However, really interested in the title of the thread.
    • Enock Powell certainly was demonised after making a speech  in 1968. In many ways it was out of character. His was a most interesting character and arguably one of the most highly intelligent person to enter parliament. Powell spoke German, French, Italian, Modern Greek, Hindi and Urdu: plus had a reading knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Welsh. Among classical languages, he knew Ancient Greek, Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic. If, for a moment, one  could set aside any preconceived opinions then one would find his biography absolutely fascinating. Enoch Powell - Wikipedia
    • Why is that shocking? It's a fair enough way to remember how to spell her name. It wasn't an analogy. He wasn't comparing the two people concerned or saying they were alike. And Enoch Powell was indeed infamous.
