Oh Mr Wolf, you know I can't really do the Lewisham thing, it goes against the grain for me (sigh). I like to disembowel with a smile on my face, and preferably without any discernable change in tone, smiling the whole time through gritted veneered teeth!

"trying to be amusing" indeed - this is my bloody life she thinks I am laughing at...

Duller than fiction then. :)

I'm a slave to others! :'(

I must practise NOT to be bossed around by others and NOT feel guilty if I refuse or decline to do what they say...

Oh Glen darling, my entire body is aching (whimper). I can hardly move, but I am fiercly competitive. I shall "soldier on" ... Of course I am going back! For the view alone (swoon).

Perfect Kalam, let me pour you a drink. I can only have sparkling water myself - it is Lent afterall (ohmygod).

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
