Radiator making humming noise

If there is a thermostatic valve fitted it is almost certainly the problem. Depending on the brand of the thermostatic valve most of the heads unscrew (chrome ring just below the plastic part of the head). Take head off and see if the sound stops, if the pin is stuck in the original position the noise will continue. You can sometimes free the pin up just by hitting the brass angled part of the valve with a pair of grips. I wouldn't recommend you pulling the pin out yourself manually as some pull right out and you'll get wet!

Hope that sorts the situation!

Your system is showing 0 bar. Dial

Most systems operate at 1 - 1.5 bar.

Normally you can top this up by opening a tap.

As you have a separate pressure vessel and loosing pressure

you may well have a water leak in your system.

I'm not a heating engineer but have had some dealings with such things.

I strongly advise you to appoint a qualified engineer to take a look.

I'm sure someone here on EDF will pick this up.

Hi

Topping up pressure will help elimate any heat transfer problems through main heat exchanger

If problem still persists other faults are

1

Possible vibration through boiler heat exchanger

2

No system by pass or not set

3

Internal circulation pump

4

If noisy in operation at low flame , poor combustion setting

5

Main heat exchanger , is vibrating on housing inside appliance

6

Fan noise

( check co2 readings and non return diaphragm

Hope this helps

Used to work for Worcester bosch , so had many a noisy boiler

Ps

Possible case as well

Needs to be checked out if pressure does not help

All the best

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
