Urgent boiler repair needed
HunterHtingSolutions replied to Kp1987's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Won't need a heating engineer. Just YouTube vaillant filling loop to top up the pressure to 1-1.5bar. If it isn't a plus range with integral filling loop then YouTube top up pressure with filling loop and should get you back up and running 👍 -
Architect designer recommendations

Jayne Mills of Studio design are amazing. Call Jayne on 07800952303, she'll look after you. -
If none of your radiators are working a magnetic filter isn't going to resolve the issue. It may aid stopping debris getting into the boiler but won't single handedly clean the heating system. Most call outs for rads not working is down to faulty thermostatic valves rather than radiators blocked. If none of the rads are working it is more likely to be a blockage either in the boiler or somewhere on the system.

Hi, you need to weigh up how long you'll be at your house. If you only have a 5 year plan it's unlikely that you'll get your money back on installing a wet central heating system. If you intend to be there long term warm air units are very inefficient to run and aren't great if anyone in the household is asthmatic as you're essentially pumping 60 years of dust in the ducts around. Wet heating systems are also a lot easier to control temperature as warm air systems are generally too hot or too cold. You've also got to consider with wet central heating the upheaval of running pipework especially ground floor as I'm assuming being a 60s build the ground floor will be solid floor. Hope this helps! Billy (Hunter Heating Solutions).

Hi all, Hunter Heating Solutions update: We are Buisness as usual. Heating engineers being key workers are there for the public needs. With Coronavirus (COVID-19) becoming a growing concern, and the uncertainty of the ongoing economical impact, we at Hunter Heating Solutions are having to adapt to this change by looking at the way we carry out our business. We will continue to work as long as it is safe to do so. The health and wellbeing of our staff and customers is a priority at this time. We are staying well informed of the developing situation and are following the advice and recommendations from the Government, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. As a result, all high value items, i.e. heat pumps, boilers, underfloor heating systems etc would need to be paid for before materials are delivered to site and installation can begin. Hopefully this will only be a short-term change, but I?m sure you can appreciate the need to do this to reduce the risk to our business in these uncertain times. Whilst the situation continues to develop and the scale of disruption remains uncertain, we hope the measures we have put in place will allow us to continue to trade normally during this difficult period. Should the situation change we will update as soon as possible. We will be wearing safety PPE in clients homes, for our safety and for yours. Please contact us should you require any further clarification. Stay safe, Billy Hunter.

Billy at Hunter Heating recommendation Posted by Nang February 07, 11:57AM Another recommendation for Billy. He diagnosed a boiler fault which enabled us to get it fixed by the supplier under guarantee after a couple of other engineers had failed to nail down the problem. Highly recommended. -

Tado smart thermostat installation
HunterHtingSolutions replied to philt74's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi Phil, I have fitted alot of these now and to be honest assuming you are only using it to control the heating and not hot water as well they are very straight forward to install by yourself to be honest... The technical guys are really helpful but although I'm putting myself out of work by saying this you can get a step by step guide on youtube also. You need a cable at your existing room thermostat or be able to run one if not. However if you do want to add the smart rad valves they need to be paired using an extension kit so starts getting a little more complex then. The other thing to mention is Tado have just started charging for the use of Geolocation which is the best part about the stat! Think its only around ?3 a month but still annoying... Personally still think it is the best smart stat on the market. -
