How happy am I!!!???

FitFunBootCamp is back on 8th March at Peckham Rye - yipeeee! smiling smiley

I joined FitFunBootCamp last April after many years of doing no exercise and being a bit sceptical that I would ever find exercise that would keep me interested; however, how wrong was I!

After hearing great stories from a friend, I took a great leap into the exercise world again and gave it a go and I can honestly say, that Darren and Marina totally 'nailed it' and kept me motivated for months.

I am so pleased this is back and will once again become a weekly fixture in my life.

Everyone is very friendly, you get a buzz and you are encouraged and motivated to exceed your own expectations - the psychological and physical benefits are well worth it.

Anyway, hope to see you there.

We begin 10am and the meeting spot is beside The Cafe on The Rye. The first session is a free trial, then you can buy 5 sessions for ?40 or 10 sessions for ?70. You do not have to commit to consecutive weeks and there are no joining fees.

Sohie_e_down have you done a BootCamp session (or any similar exercise) before?

Hi jclarke, thank you for your interest! Our session that falls into your catchment takes place in Peckham Rye Park SE15 4JR on a Sunday mornig. Can I invite you for a taster session?

We have a couple more sessions nearby West Norwood you could also attend but I'm not permitted to say much more about those on here.

Wait and hope to hear back :)

I want to recommend this class to anyone looking for a new fitness regime (or wanting to add to an existing one)

I started at the Peckham class last summer, fresh from a long fitness sabbatical!! and Im still there enjoying it more and more each week.

What's great is it caters for all levels and no two sessions are exactly the same, keeping it fresh and varied...I think its why it the first class in a long time I've stuck at.

Darren and the other instructors seem to have found the right balance, pushing you further with encouragement and motivation...no grilling or yelling here.

So glad to see it back at Peckham and just in time to get ready for summer!

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
