Hi all,

wondering if anyone has used the chico next to me crib/cot or the mamas and papas Snuzpod, or something similar?

I want something for baby number 2 to sleep next to bed in without me having to get up and down all night long (barring all unavoidable newborn reasons I might have to get up and down for all night long anyway!). My last baby was a whopper and I'm thinking this one will be too so need something spacious for it to last the optimum length. I like the look of the Chico Next2Me for this reason...but has anyone used anything else?

Thanks for any advice.

I swear by the bednest - think it's the simplest and best of it's kind out there. Used ours from birth to 6 months and loved it. Fantastic for breastfeeding at night and you get all the benefits of co-sleeping without actually bedsharing all night. you can hire them from NCT or buy new and can also pick up easily second hand online (which is what we did but bought a new mattress/sheets)

My first never settled well in her Moses basket so spent most nights in bed with us.

I bought a snuzpod this time and love it! My son is 5months now and quite tall but still fits nicely in it. I sleep much better knowing I'm not going up squash him but like him being close so I can still reach to settle him if needed without moving out of bed!

We have a baby bay maxi which is fab. I didn't have a cosleeper for my first and i regret that now! My first was also a big baby so I went for a larger cosleeping cot as my friends babies had outgrown some cosleepers by 3 months. My daughter is almost 4 months and despite being really long, there is still plenty of space for her. Its more expensive than the chicco but I preferred the way it attaches to the bed and doesn't leave a gap at all. We also have a detachable side for the baby bay so it can be freestanding too.
I also had a bednest which we rented and just bought the mattress new from Little Green Sheep as I had heard the standard mattress that comes with the bedpost (also new) was a bit thin. You just have the bed itself which is 'used' but ours looked like new and then the mattress and fabric panels come new and wrapped. Loved it! We were sad when baby grew out of it around 7 months (he is a long baby!)

    • Hi there!   We are looking into getting a side return and loft dormer. I wondered if anyone had any experience of working with Resi or GoPlans? We'd be keen for there to be an element of interesting architectural design, however can't afford a traditional architect. We wondered if Resi might have the edge over GoPlans on this due to the size of the company and the amount of architectural designers they have working for them.    We'd love to know any thoughts you had about these companies or similar!   Thanks!   Julia
    • I’d like to recommend local plumber - James at Trelco Plumbing. I’ve used them twice now, for a kitchen tap replacement and a boiler repair. Both times they were able to attend at short notice, arrived on time and we are very happy with the work they have done. James is polite, responsive and easy to deal with. • Deptford Green and Elm Green anecdotally have a more realistic and compassionate to kids differing needs. Whether that is still the case i'm not sure. Having 3 boys at Charter i would seriously consider a boys school if you have them, Charter East really aren't geared up for the different educational needs of some boys and the challenging behaviour this frustration leads to. I have heard amazing things about St Thomas the Apostle boys school.
