Swimming Club open day - Alleyn's School - Sun 22 March

Recommended Posts

St James's Swimming club has been active in Dulwich since 1878. We meet twice weekly (at Dulwich College on Thurday evening and Alleyn's School on Sunday morning). The club is run by volunteers and the coaches are all ASA qualified. You can find out more details on our website at sjsc.org.uk.

On Sunday March 22 we are having a free open session at Alleyn's pool 11.30 - 12.30. Come along to take part in a free session with some front crawl coaching, length training and fun races at the end. Any children must be able to swim at least a length, as we improve swimmers we do not teach from scratch, and the pool at Alleyn's is not suitable for non swimmers. If you do come please turn up in time for a prompt start in the pool at 11.30.

If your child learned to swim at school but is not getting any more sessions, and does not want to progress to a 5 day a week training regime, this is the perfect middle ground where they can learn to swim all 4 strokes with expert coaching but without too much pressure (and lots of fun).

If you enjoy the session you can sign up to join, annual membership is ?50 or ?25 if under 17 or under 21 and in full time education (this covers ASA membership and incidental expenses of the club). Then you just pay ?3 a session (which covers the bath hire).

If you want more information you can reply to this post, visit the web site where there is a contact form, mail [email protected], or phone Alasdair on 07818 077 057 (leave a message if I don't answer). Otherwise just turn up at Alleyn's school pool on March 22.

See you there!

    • Love this video of Simon Munk talking about the floating bus stop issues...just watch the behaviour of the cyclists who appear in shot....not one of them following the rules....the fact that LCC pushed this out shows just how blinkered they are...it's like that famous clip of some local government official being interviewed on the road side to talk about how much safer that particular stretch of road is now because of their interventions and a crash happens right behind him!
    • I think WRT Labour, they don't want to open up what would become another devisive Brexit debate this side of an election. Personally I'm ok with this as I want to see the Tories absolutely shellacked at the GE as a consequence for what they've brought on the country. I doubt that Labour will address Brexit much in a first term either, instead concentrating on the big domestic issues e.g. NHS, transport, education. I realise that these these are all interconnected with Brexit, but the lead-up to Brexit itself took up so much bandwidth that nothing else got done, so I can see Labour swerving the Brexit issue fir as long as they can.  Eventually though, you can only ignore the economic gravitational pull of the single largest trading bloc right on your doorstep for so long, and at some point Labour will have to address it, so for me it's more a question of when not if...

    • Leon from electrical initiative changed our old skool kitchen lights with modern dimmable down lighters. I'm really pleased with the work, fitted to a very high standard. Leon has it all, excellent electrician, polite, easy to get on with, turned up on time, excellent communication and charged at fair value. I highly recommend his services.
