As said by someone else on this forum I live in the East Dulwich wilderness (well off Forest Hill road) so my nearest station is Honor Oak Park. I just wondered if anyone else who travels from this station is fed up with being jammed onto a heaving carriage like sardines every morning - and usually it's even worse on the way home. And as for ever getting a seat -forget it! I've lived in various parts of London and have never known trains to be so packed. Is the service from ED/Peckham Rye like this? I'm tempted to start getting the bus to work!

I used to travel from Honor Oak Park to London Bridge, then bus to Gray's Inn Road (earlier is better, as Dukesdenver said). After Xmas they changed the timetable for trains in the evening, so coming home was even more horribly overcrowded. However, with the snow at the beginning of February and all the faffing around trying to get into work, I discovered a great bus route, which doesn't really take any longer, and I am saving loads of money on train fares! Try the bus!

    • Hello, I'm from Ireland and would love my children to be able to know the language - I can speak it but I'm not so good at teaching it. If there's anyone local who used to teach Irish at primary school (preferably Connemara Irish) and who'd like to tutor 3 boys aged 7-10 for an hour or two a week please do let me know. Thanks, Sarah
