Thanks - to the people who helped in nasty situation on Rye Lane today

Recommended Posts

I had a really nasty experience on Rye Lane today where a deranged screaming mad men (drugged up, I presume) nearly ran me over, then slammed out his car, cornered me and then followed me on foot down Rye Lane, screaming as he went. Pretty scary.

I wanted to thank the group of people - both commuters heading to the ED bus stop, and the Peckham locals, who stood up for me and in some cases, risked danger by putting themselves physically between the mad man and myself.

I fled as soon as his attention was diverted, so didn't get the chance to thank those people. It's really heartening to know there are good people out there, willing to help a stranger.

This is on the off-chance any of them read the forum!

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
