I know I'm looking really late, but I'm trying to book 2 bedroom holiday accommodation for August near a pool and beach. I would prefer a package this year as the flights are all so expensive by now. I'm not picky where we go but am thinking Spain, Portugal, Greece. We are 2 adults 2 small children. The problem is it appears every search engine assumes we will all sleep in the same room, or in a 1 bed apartment with me and husband on a sofa bed in the lounge... For over ?2k a week... Is it really so strange for me to want to sleep in a separate room from my kids? Surely there must be 2 bed apartments in the swathes of apartment blocks across the med? The only way I can get any 2 bed places to come up is by saying that we have 2 further kids, but then the price rockets to over ?4k as it's done per person. So frustrating. Rant over.

Maybe I am the only person whose idea of a holiday doesn't include sharing a room with the kids?!

I agree with you...need some space! I am going back here this year after a relaxing week with my then 3 year old last August.

It's not luxurious but we had a 2 bed spacious apartment(slightly dated but had everything we needed)which was very clean. They are individually owned so the d?cor varies....my sister has also been and had a 3 bed apartment with roof terrace.

There is a small children's pool next to the main pool, and just cross a footpath and you are on a large sandy beach. The resort is small and quiet so not much to do but you can get a local bus to Ciutadella with it's harbour or the capital Mahon. There is a nice promenade to walk on in the evenings and a couple of hotels with evening entertainment (mainly for children I think). We went self catering, there is a restaurant onsite which is ok, basic food but quite nicely done, and other nicer restaurants along the promenade.

Good luck with finding somewhere!

    • You can make cider from a variety of varieties of apple.  If course the best is west country/SW Midlands which is predominantly cider apples, that can be so tart it knocks your head off.  But cider producers often add desert apples, and Breton and Normandy ciders are sweeter.
    • Hi,  We are welcoming a puppy to our family in a couple of months, and since I'm new to the area, I'm looking for some local recommendations.  I am looking for the following:  Highly recommended vet  Groomers (they are a cavapoo, so will be a regular!)  Group puppy training classes  Thank you 🙂
    • I too am very sorry to hear this, taliax7. It must weigh heavily over you and your family.
    • We did L-shaped conversion and put the bathroom in the middle so could be shared by both front and rear bedrooms and strongly recommend this. We'd stayed in places with ensuite bathrooms in front bedroom and didn't want kids / guests having to walk through front bedroom from back bedroom. All of our loft rooms feel spacious and have lots of light. You can add more roof windows and adding a side window in addition to rear window on back bedroom makes a huge difference to the feel and light. Think how you'll use the rooms and where the furniture will go; and pay attention to where you'll have reduced headroom as this catches lots of people out and having to make mid-build changes. Suggest view your neighbours lofts and see what you like and what you don't. Hope this helps
