EveJohnson
My neighbour on Barry road has had scaffolding up since before Christmas, I sleep in the attic room and right next to my window is the scaffolding with tarpaulin, it is so loud! Whether it's raining or windy it makes so much noise and keeps me awake. A few months ago it got so bad because it had come loose it all blew off in the wind.It would be more bearable if the house was actually having works done to it, but I haven't seen any workmen for months.I don't know what to do ? Loz
Sometime tonight, untie it. Given the weather this evening, it should be somewhere over Italy by morning. giggirl
I sympathise, tarpaulin is very noisy in these winds. I suspect that a good pair of ear plugs is all the relief you can expect. I think that Loz was joking but please don't untie it because it's not safe for you to be hanging so far out of your window, and you don't want a bloody big tarpaulin blowing down Barry Rd causing accidents. JohnL
Yes - I got the same - top flat. The wind won't last - it was pretty bad. Some wood blew off over the weekend too - and almost hit whistling manFire brigade turned up and got the scaffolders to secure - not known that before. Gloves1980
Only barrow boys and bakers whistle, do know which one he was? I would take some valarian tablets, great nights sleep......or some ear plugs. stevie23b
for a start the use of a 'tarp' instead of proper sheeting fitted by scaffolders is 'cheap' re. mean. re.no consideration.I would suggest cutting the 'string' that is holding the tarp down.
