A website for women who have been discriminated against whilst they were pregnant or after having a baby. It is estimated that 50,000 women a year lose their jobs due to maternity discrimination. This doesn't include the women who are demoted, harassed, aren't put forward for promotion or lose contracts if they are self employed. Pregnant Then Screwed is a place for you to tell your story in your own words so that we can expose this injustice, because exposure is a step towards positive societal change.

Great site.

I was demoted when I returned to work the first time. Thankfully went on to a better job with a lovely supportive manager.

I don't know any women who've returned to work without nah negative experiences.

I earn less now than I did 6 years ago - two children and upon returning still earning less than in 2009!

It is an extremely sad read. I had a very negative experience during my second pregnancy myself and still feel angry about it... I hope this website can make a change!

Hi all, thanks for looking at the project and for supporting the campaign. It is so vital that we change perceptions and the law so that we are better protected. Stories are such a powerful way to show how systemic a problem like maternity discrimination is. If any of you have experienced this please, please, please post your story on the site. nikki, yes thats true, its not limited to men.

ive been lucky my career hasnt been affected, perhaps slowed slightly but i have still progressed, but i still had the nasty comments from co-workers.

Great news about Pregnant Then Screwed. Yesterday, on Mother's Day, we launched our very first Crowdfunder! Since this thread started in 2015 we've gone from strength to strength but completely unfunded. We're on the cusp of changing a piece of legislation that limits pregnant women/new mothers to 90days to file discrimination claims. We launched a free, legal hotline.The time has come to grow the campaign so that we can offer more women our help with our mentor service and new campaigns. So far we've helped over 600 women and aim to assist 2,500 in the course of 2017.
