Rail Ale was the weaker, Firkin was the middle, and Dogbolter was the strongest.

Each of the Firkin pubs changed the name of the weaker pint to reflect the pub I think.

And yes, I loved all three, but Dogbolter was the Dog'sBollox.

I do rather like Youngs Double Chocolate Stout.

And most Porters.

And I have only found one pub in London that does Mackeson.

A riverside pub called The Hope and Anchor in SE7.

Does anyone know of any other pub that does Mackeson?

fullers have just realeased "george gales & sons " Seafarers ale"

only 3.6% so i think its more of a session ale rather than a premium

if anyone sees or samples it , please feel free to let us know your thoughts

cheer to the beers , all hail to the ale!!

Just re-read this post and laughed out loud, my head like a nodding dog, very, very, funny.

Ale is for the refined palette,It takes time effort and research. A good ale "mentor" helps you appreciate it's subtleties.Go to any small town or country village and order a pint of their local ale & it won't be long before a regular strikes up a conversation with you, some how you slip through the net of suspicion easier.

I'm sure most are put of first time by quick a sip of warm muddy John Smith or a pint of cloudy Bass. I myself started out on "Badgers Tanglefoot" served crystal clear at the perfect temprature in a Sussex pub ( The Vine at Tarring) on a busy sunday lunch, free roast potatoes dusted with chili flakes served at the bar..............

ohh but they were the days....

Wow, thats pretty darn cheap....

Btw, I do have a soft spot for kiwi white wine...Oyster bay rules...

Will add that one to the "must try list"

However don't put me on the "list makers" ...erm "list"

I am right off being on "the list" list

So please will you strike me off your list , if i'm on there, if not add it to your "to do" list for later

I'm sure you understand

    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
