Frankie G
I have stupidly been chucking junk mail into a basket.... Now have a sack full of it! Does anyone know of a place where I can take it to be burned or shredded. It's too much to do at home and having been the victim of fraud before I am loathe to just chuck it in the bin. Any ideas? Peckhamgatecrasher
If I have too much to burn, I soak it in a bucket overnight, then drain and wring the paper. If it's already been shredded/torn small, the papier mache effect will be fraud-proof. You could use the bath if you have huge quantities. It helps in that I just tear off identifying addresses/paragraphs. The rest goes into normal paper waste. If that seems too much, I think the tip off the Old Kent Road is most likely to have what you want. Jeremy
Bury it in the garden? I think paper decomposes quite quickly. (maybe not glossy paper.. not sure) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57060-public-incinerator-anywhere/#findComment-840408 Share on other sites

DulwichFox
There is a Mobile shredding unit that a neighbour of mine uses to shred securely bulk loads. I will try and get details when I next see him if that would help .? Frankie G
Thank you so much for taking the time to help. It is much appreciated, I am going to try the soaking in water, but I am sorry to say my own sloth like fault! I have loads of the stuff. I would be grateful for the number to the mobile shredding unit and to posting back to the sender! I think that will give me great please, and also keep the post office going a bit longer. Thanks again Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/57060-public-incinerator-anywhere/#findComment-841291 Share on other sites
Jennys
Junk mail? Put the mail from one sender into the reply paid envelope of another, then put that sender's mail into another replied paid envelope and so on. Then post all the unwanted letters to cause maximum annoyance.
