Stonemason recommendation - Rob Payne

I'd like to recommend a stonemason who's just restored the arches on my flat - and on my neighbour's flat - on Melbourne Grove in East Dulwich, above GM hairdressers.

He's called Rob Payne and is the consummate professional. He did a fantastic job of restoring arches that were in shockingly bad condition, and for a very reasonable price. There's currently scaffolding and sheeting surrounding them but once it's down i think the whole street will look brighter as a result.

He's a really friendly guy and clearly very passionate about his work. He took care to explain the rejuvenation process and even happily gave me and my neighbours extra advice about other building work we were having done.

When the arches were chipped slightly from masonry falling down from rendering work at the top of the flats that was being carried out - Rob came round and touched up the damage for free. He works in the stone trade - and this guy's a gem.

His website is www.stonerejuvenation.co.uk

I've attached before and after pictures of his work.

Hi

I'd like to also highly recommend Rob Payne Stonemason www.stonerejuvenation.co.uk

We have just had our end of terrace Victorian house repointed in Brockley and had the bricks restored to their lovely golden yellow London brick colour. The once dingy brown side return wall which felt cold and dark is now bright, clean and shows all the original Victorian features e.g. paler bricks surrounding the arch of the door. The pointing uses the original materials recommended for these bricks (lime)and is done to a very neat high standard. Rob is very knowledgeable on using the correct materials and explaining what he is doing and why. Rob did the job quickly and cleanly and worked incredibly hard throughout and he really took pride in his work- perfecting defect bricks even on the garden wall!! Many of our neighbours have complimented the work and asked for his details. Restoring the bricks in this way can add considerable value to a property yet the quote was very reasonable compared to others- I can't see what the higher quotes would have given us that Rob didn't?!! Well done, Rob and THANK YOU!!!
