Because unless it's a UK website, why should the UK be a default choice?

We're a f-ing tiny island, FFS :))

'unnecessary use of red ink' is a great entry to this thread.

anyway, you're queuing for the loos as both are occupied and by god, you've waited bloody AGES then someone pops in just like that and insouciantly joins the queue. Then both occupants of the loos finish at the same time giving the person behind IMMEDIATE access to a loo that you've had to wait ages for.

Oh, and you've chosen the one without any tissue left and a faulty lock on the door.

The express self checkout thing

I'm fine with it, i've developed near ninja skills

But, fuk bones with a purse, mobile and a child to ignore takes ONE hand to scan & put the stuff on the packing shelf. Not in the bags provided, but on the packing shelf, then tries to pay, then calls someone, then answers their phone, then wankily packs the stuff in a bag at sub zero speed

All the while ignoring the child who's been leaning on the shelf fekkin up the scale thing in the first place. Lastly your child doesn't need to wear an oversized puffa coat, or eat a jumbo packet of Haribo's at 10 am, whilst you're still in your pyjamas but wearing massive false eyelashes (unstuck at the corner)

I'm sure it's not exclusively a Sydenham thing

You'd think so, tho only if the STUPID people over the road DIDN'T let their horrible fat dog bark in the garden at 4 am.

    • Hello, Does anyone know of any climbing, basketball or badminton clubs that are local to Peckham, East Dulwich? My son’s weekends are full of football and rugby training but I’m struggling to keep him busy (off a screen!) on week evenings. I’ve looked into the London Community boxing but sessions sadly start at 4.30 and he’s not back from school until 5.  Any recommendations gratefully received!
    • Be careful out there  !   I got a ticket for 1 minute over  on Lordship Lane   ---- with a blue badge , on a single yellow ...    I returned at 4.03pm to find the ticket -- he waited till 4.01pm with ticket and then scarpered  Naturally i appealed it and this was the response   We refer to the informal challenge you have made against the issue of the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) JK17113680 You were parked on a single yellow line with one yellow kerb marking. There is a sign at the location advising that no loading is permitted Monday-Friday, 7 am to 10 am, and then 4 pm to 7 pm. Loading is permitted for a maximum of 40 minutes between 10 am and 4 pm, and then again after 7 pm. You were observed parked at 4:01 pm. and therefore issued a PCN for parking at a time when the rule applies. The purpose of this rule is to improve traffic flow and safety at all times. This contravention is immediately enforceable, and therefore, a PCN can be issued straight away as no observation period is needed. This rule applies to disabled badge holders, too; it is not a situation where you may use your disabled badge. Although your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) was correctly given, we have cancelled it on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that this cancellation does not set a precedent for other PCNs issued in the future under similar circumstances, as each case is dealt with on its own merits. Yours sincerely Anita Hayler Southwark Parking
    • Closed this evening at 7pm (Tuesday). Perhaps worth ringing first to check if it’s open?
    • Thanks for the recommendation. So pleased I found Andy the plumber! After being let down by others, he assessed remotely, ordered part and got everything sorted in no time. Really grateful — thank you! Highly recommend
