Flying with Bugaboo Bee - travel bag yes or not?

Is it worth investing in a travel bag for my Bugaboo Bee? I will be taking it right to the gate. I'm flying with BA.

We have taken our Bee to NZ and back 4 times now (6 flights each trip!) without a travel bag and it's been fine.

We've taken our abroad twice. First time it came out with the seat hanging off and about to break so the next time we just tied it up to keep it together and was fine.

To be honest it's a gamble. I've flown loads of times with my stokke and all but once it has been fine (apart from a scratch or two here and there). But, one xmas it arrived at our destination with a bit snapped off which was dangerously sharp and needed for folding. So we asked the airline to sort out a repair. They did repair it, and gave us a replacement push chair for free (so you can imagine the quality of that-our daughter wouldn't even sit in it), so we were without a pushchair for the duration of our 2+week holiday. It really wasn't great. That said I have since got a new pushchair and still haven't forked out for a travel bag and do get a bit anxious every time the bags come out. So, if finances aren't too much of an issue, for peace of mind it's probably worth it. But, if you can't bear forking put for yet another bit of baby gear and are happy to gamble then don't bother!

It is a gamble as others have said. We have had two pushchairs destroyed via airlines, when we take our bee we use a bugaboo travel bag but it is annoying if you ware taking it to the gate as its quie big and doesn't really fit under the seat. We tend to put it in the bag and check it in and sling the little one for the airport... Works ok as long as you are on and off both ends but if you are delayed can be really annoying!!
