MrBen
#1. Avoid the Horniman Museum....especially if you have two babies in tow...it pains me to say anymore.Edit: Even a cat pickled in brine would have failed to cheer the likes of KeeyBreeks yesterday Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/60016-bank-holiday-lessons/ Share on other sites
MrBen
#2. Never attempt to drive London to Cornwall on the Friday of the August bank holiday...or try to return on the Monday at about 3pm. MrBen
#3. Avoid Westfield Stratford AT ALL COSTS on a Bank holiday Monday....even if it has the only Apple Store in London that can fix your problem. Actually buying a new Mac will be less painful. Jeremy
We were at the Horniman yesterday afternoon (with a baby-slash-toddler). Not too busy at all. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/60016-bank-holiday-lessons/#findComment-851613 Share on other sites

I hit it 1.30-3pm ish and the 30 mins queue for the toilet/baby changing, 20 min wait for a drink and 600 buggies circling the over stuffed walrus were enough for me.... Jah Lush
Take my advice. Never leave the house on a Bank Holiday weekend. Stock up with provisions and bed in for the long haul because believe me anywhere you go will be full of cunts.NB: And presumably now that everyone has gone back to work it is safe enough now for layabouts like me to venture out and about. Very short queue at the cafe, lots of free tables. Museum itself wasn't too bad either - didn't go to the Natural History section though, I think I've seen the manky stuffed animals enough times to last me a lifetime. Didn't need the baby changing (she seemed to decide a while ago that she only likes to poo at home). Otta
Much as I love Hornimans, I bloody hate that cafe. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/60016-bank-holiday-lessons/#findComment-851717 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Inside is a bit school canteenish, but sitting outside is pleasant enough. Cake at ?3 a slice seems steep, but the slices are huge and are really enough for two (although of course I did not share my piece).
