I spent about three hours in a police cell aged 12. I had been caught bunking off school (my mother actually would call the police on such occasions) and they found me in Leicester Square Empire cinema watching A Chorus Line. I think she must have told them to lock me up to scare me..... I got the full works - stripped of my hairband and my money belt. I refused dinner and instead spent the entire time turning pirouettes like some crazed thing - don't think the cell had ever seen such action.

Five years later I came into regular contact over three summers with the old bill as a tap dancer busking in Leicester Square and Covent Garden.... that film had a lot to answer for.

Tis not quite the "southbank" (over side of bridge and all that and not the same complex)

I deviate away from this thread.

Am I considered hard core if I say me m8 got arrested for setting a bin on fire whilst under the influence of slightly illegal substances when he were a teen? ;-)

Scary and also extremely dangerous. Good job we have a world-leading fire service to protect us...;-)

    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
