Well, for one, your item (once sold on) has comes with no manufacturer's warranty. Your rights do not transfer and the person buying it from you has no legal rights under the Sale of Goods act whatsoever as you are a private seller.

What, so you want someone to buy your soundbar for the same price as online, but if it develops a fault then they are up the proverbial creek, sans paddle? Wow-ee - that's the sort of anti-bargain you really don't see very often. Well, not outside of Greek debt negotiations, anyway. Have you ever thought of getting into the motor trade?

Tomorrow: dulwichbased offers ED residents the exciting and unmissable offer of second class stamps for the price of first class.

PS Sold the sound bar yet?

Drawn to this from discussions on the 'lounge'

Suggest those interested buy it from this person

(a) Amazaon don't pay tax, so you may as well buy from a private individual

(b) Currys are...

© And save yourself a trip to John Lewis.

Did some work on consumer protection in the 00s and Curry's customer service and warranties are just as bad as then.

"This laptop isn't connecting wirelessly, nor does the touch screen work"

"clearly sir your daughter has downloaded a virus"

"Well it is under warranty so it is up to you to check it"

"you have to give us ?50 deposit as we don't check in house and have to send off toour 'knowhow' people"

Much 'discussion' later, "are you sure that the ?50 will be returned if we don't want to go ahead with a repair"

Two weeks later, not worth repairing, no return of ?50.

The story doesn't stop there. I'll see them in court. Haven't included the bit on them saying "only stupid people don't buy extended warranties"

Lower Sydenham BTW. So may as well buy privately.

    • Well I don’t approve for a shop doing the same food to open so near - just wrong in my opinion. Why not go to the village, Peckham - foot fall would be great in Peckham and certainly more multi  cultural than ED. Village has money but doubt foot fall would be as good as ED.  At least they could have gone to the stretch leading up to Peckham Rye or why not bottom of Barry Road?? Or even North Cross Road I for one, on principal won’t be going in.
    • Heh yeah haven't even bothered to remove the emdash. The OP is AI slop as well.
    • The street directory is on Ancestry and you'll need a subscription to access.  It's reasonably easy to navigate though you have to find the page you're looking for by a combination of trial and error/guesswork.  https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/61265/images/47056_263021009499_1592-00159?usePUB=true&_phsrc=Soz1793 There is though also a general search page for London directories where the street name can be entered in the keyword field and results will take you to the specific pages. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/61265/
