Holidays with teenagers

Any tips on somehwere cheapish and cheerful to take a couple of older teenagers for a holiday in mid august?

They might be a bit embarassed to be with their parents in Torquay/Newquay but that's true of everywhere I suppose. Maybe you should ask them for suggestions because you don't want a grumpy teenager on holiday.

I've heard a place called Hossegor in Southwest France is good for teenagers. Anyone been there?

Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and the Highlands

Hossegor is good for teenagers, as is nearby Lacanau. Great campsites in pine forests, huge dunes, white sand beaches and brilliant waves if they are into surfing etc. Very relaxed, chilled atmosphere. My memory is a bit hazy as I went as a teenager myself (which was a while ago now!) but I don't think it will have changed that much. It will be busy mid-August, but most places in France are busy during that month.
