I have no idea, I know there is work going on outside my window but no idea what they are doing. We were hoping it would be a crossing as lots of kids cross the road there and there is no safety crossing. It looks like they are extending the pavement for the buses. We hope not because we have so many problems on that road with lack of parking and the rest!
They're also relocating all the tennis courts from Wimbledon to East Dulwich (next to the Sports Academy site), because the land here costs half as much as Wimbledon. They're either going to change the name of the championship to "Dulwich", or Dulwich will be renamed Wimbledon. A final decision has yet to be made.
when I walked past about 2 weeks ago I stopped and read the notice tied to a lamp post (which may have blown down by now) I think it said that it will be an improved barrier with cycle path through it. The council are just doing something similar at Waveney Avenue/Carden road on the other side of the park.

    • Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be. The article contained: "That arrest had quite an impact on the [phone theft] numbers for the following month,” said Green.  Here's another indicator, admittedly a piece of police PR,  of how well-targeted police efforts, mostly invisible to us,  can when successful  seriously affect offending figures: https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-police-drive-down-theft-and-robbery-by-84-percent-in-battersea-and-nine-elms-500495.
    • Another excellent article from Jim Waterson's London Centric reporting https://www.londoncentric.media/p/kitchen-foil-and-algerian-markets?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Interesting that there seem to be favoured and repeated routes for phone snatching for particular thieves.  Seems ED might be one of them ☹️
    • Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast
