  1. Have gone a couple of times to the barbers next to Mrs Robinson in East Dulwich and am very happy. Best of all, only ?10.50 for a cut! :)
  2. Hi All, just wanted to post a recommendation for electrician Gary Vu (07872178044) who I found via other recommendations on this forum (thanks everyone!). Some good things about Gary: 1. High quality work. 2. Very reasonably priced. 3. Doesn't rip you off (and I have had bad experiences with other electricians, so am careful here). 4. Is very reliable - arrives when he says, does the job as per specs, does not add 'extra charges' etc. 5. Leaves everything tidy. Cheers! Sherwick

  4. Here's the real reason: Lib Dem MP Stephen Williams blogs about the reasons for the violence: "Everyone wants to be rich and famous, without wanting to work hard to reach those otherwise acceptable ambitions. So I think the prime motivators behind the looting are greed and jealousy, rather than sorrow and anger. Basic human failings that have been around forever. Not contemporary political gripes but certainly contemporary social malaise."
  5. God, The Guardian is spouting artcile after article of utter rubbish. These 'poor unfortunates' have had ?millions if not ?billions shoved at them over the decades.
  6. Why aren't the police using water cannon or tear gas? This is ridiculous.
  7. Well in that case, in the words of Edmund Blackadder, the phase I am looking for rhymes with 'clucking bell'.
  8. Ah yes, Val's is good. The P Off next to Sainsbury's is horrible (well the people who work in there are IMHO) and really does p me right off.
  9. "To the woman at the bus stop outside Nero's this morning, who rather unhelpfully started with the scare mongering stories about not being able to get home this evening - Just be quiet and go about your own business!" :)) It could be true. I fear it's going to be yet another nightmare journey getting home for huge numbers of people.
  10. "do they realise the disruption this is causing?" Probably lovin' it.
  11. Surely if every train is delayed by 30 minutes then they're all on time if you see what I mean...
  12. Seems to be conflicting reports... Tarah's which says that there are severe delays and even that LB underground is closed(!) and others saying there's no problem at all! :-S
  13. I live on Underhill near you and work near Moorgate. It normally takes me less than an hour door to door. There are several ways to get there: 1. Get to ED station and then get the train to LB and then walk/tube it in. 2. Get the P13 to either West Dulwich or Tulse Hill stations and get the train to City Thamslink/Farringdon and then the walk/tube from there. 3. Get the 363 from Underhill to Peckham Rye and then either the train to LB or to City Thamslink/Farringdon. The 'difficult' bit is getting to a station, which takes anything up to 25 minutes. After that it's easy.
  14. Hi, Police camea knocking today. A woman was attacked, apparently in her car, on Underhill Road just by the junction with Belvoir Rd. Those are all the details I have - i hope the woman is OK. Cheers, Sherwick
  15. Ponting looks like George W Bush.
