I'm drinking Porto dry white with tonic, lime and fresh mint courtesy of a very nice lady that gave my girlfriend a bottle as a gift as she left the project they were working on. Never had it before but it is tasty gorgeous! She's Portuguese, apparently its very popular drink in Portugal.

I've had plenty of bottled Jaipur before but had never tried draft until Wednesday at EDT. I've heard people say the same as you, Jeremy, about being better suited to keg and so I was pleasantly surprised at how good the cask is. Am still searching for it on keg, though having a one year old baby has made pub visits much rarer than they once were.

Anyway, tonight I am drinking a bottle of Mariana Trench by Weird Beard Brew Co. It is delicious.

    • It’s literal.  There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help.    So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps?  Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups?  How do you think people respond to this?     Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
    • All depends on what you call reasonably priced!  Was it for Christmas Day?   Noticed that The Plough were advertising Christmas Lunches but did not see any prices listed.
    • A few weeks back, I booked an appointment by phone, not the app, which surely must be the same process as booking it at reception? Though it was for a longer appointment than usual, so maybe that was why?
