He played well against an out of sorts Rafa. By doing so he won more money than he had done all year. He is 30. He will probably lose his next match and never be heard of again......

I'd actually heard of him before... remember him playing in Wimbledon a couple of years ago. Walking onto the court with his dreads and headphones he looked every inch the coolest man in tennis.

But alas, Alan is right - the match says more about Rafa's decline.

He was a pleasure to watch. So enjoyable to see a different style of tennis. I know Nadal was not in best form but don't take it away from Brown as he was "in the zone".He is enthralling.Nadal may have to consider getting some help other than uncle Tony.

Otta here's the order of play for today-

Centre Court (13:00 start)

Grigor Dimitrov (Bul) v Richard Gasquet (Fra),

Novak Djokovic (Ser) v Bernard Tomic (Aus),

Serena Williams (USA) v Heather Watson (Gbr)

I would guess from that lineup it's going to be late afternoon/early evening.

I agree. Serve and volley is the way to play on grass.I spent all of my youth playing on grass and always loved it much more than any other surface.

I think it used to be the case in women's tennis in particular that if you were going to be a top player you would have done so by the age of 23, if not several year's younger. I loved how HW played and I don't think she choked in the last set even if she was 3-0 up. Williams was lucky to get through and at 33 she is probably over the hill tennis wise. She plays her sister next and she's 35. Given the quality of Watson's game I really hope she climbs up the rankings. So much of the game at that level is to do with controlling what's between the ears.

    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
