We had an attempted break in on Landcroft road last night - minutes after going to bed at about 11.30, a group of people tried to kick the door in but were scared off by our shouts and our neighbours taking chase. There were about 6 people (4 male and 2 female), but they got away. We called the police, but they were obviously unable to do anything. We'll be stepping up security tomorrow, but it's left us pretty nervous and we have an eight week old baby which makes matters worse.

Did anyone else have any trouble last night or perhaps see the group? The police said nothing else had been reported, but the gang weren't shy about creating a lot of noise and bringing attention to themselves, so it seems unlikely that nothing else happened.

Don't forget to lock up, it was a pretty terrifying evening.

    • When I receive my new quote, if it is higher than last year, I ring the company and ask if they can review it.  In the last couple of years, they have lowered the quote, although still a bit higher than the previous year.  May be worth a try

    • I’ve been happily with them for donkeys years but my recent experience has been a bit shocking. Clinical staff have been great (if you can get an appointment) but apparently the Practice has a ‘new system’ in place. You can’t phone for an appointment, you have to go ‘on the app’ and request one. GP will review the request at some unspecified point and decide whether to offer you an appointment . My experience of using the app hasn’t been good and I’m a bit horrified that folk can no longer arrange appointments by phone or by walking in. I’ve also had them lose referral forms, and had to chase them multiple times over a simple GP letter. This has never been my experience in the past so it’s alarming. Anyway, I’ve asked to be included in the Patient Participation Panel, so I’m interested in the experience of others, good & bad? Feel free to PM me, if you prefer!
