I need to get to Sulivan Road, SW6 3DU tomorrow afternoon for a job interview and the tube strike has thrown my route into slight chaos. The nearest station is Parson's Green, apparently about 15mins walk away. I've tried the TFL website but it all looks very involved so just thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions? I live on Peckham Rye side of ED so either station is easy for me. Any help would be much appreciated!

It's the route I take to Craven Cottage. It works pretty well as only one form of transport is involved. It's easy to say: ten minutes on this train, 10 minutes on that bus, aggregate it up and treat that as the total. That ignores time: getting to train stations, waiting for buses and trains, getting between buses and trains etc. I remember a house builder in the area suggesting that a trip from East Dulwich to Greenwich takes 20 minutes. Fine with the aid of teleportation and perfectly synchronised transport. Anyway, whatever you do, do not assume that you can get from ED to Parson's Green in 40 minutes on the day of a strike. You may be very lucky, but it would be a risk. Victoria is traditionally where camera crews converge on strike days to film people's desperation to get on buses. Equally, however strikes can be complete non-events with largely functioning public transport and a slightly lower number of people using it.
Thought it only proper that I update everyone on the success of my journey. 3The 37 took exactly 45 minutes from East Dulwich Road to Alma Rd, Walworth. The walk to the office on the otherside of the river probably about 20minutes. I allowed a ridiculous amount of time to get there so as always was ridiculously early and discovered the office was in a very residential area completely void of any cafes or shops! But I am extremely thankful for all your help and always love it when I can get there and back for the bargain price of 2 quid! (oh and I got the job, but it's only agency waitressing so can't get too excited!)

    • I bought my peloton last August, I sit 4 feet in front of it everyday at my desk. When I do use it I love it, yet no interest nor obligation to use it of late without some gentle boost of encouragement other than my gelatinous self reflection.  Once upon a time (not all too long ago) I’d be doing 2 spin classes a day. I know I have it in me and I’m far from lazy. Be great if anyone locally wanted to do some check ins / accountability / light and fun competitive elements etc.  I’ve seen at least 3 pelotons in windows in SE22.  I’m one step away from knocking on their doors 😀.    Responses of sincere kindness and helpful support are welcome only. Advice is not sought after. Purely welcoming people who have access to a peloton to discuss further.  Thanks  Emily
