flapjackdavey
there was cyclist behind me on the pavement this evening , I deliberately walked right in the middle of the narrow pavement , so that he had to to say " scuse me boss " to get past . roads are for cars and cyclists . pavements are for pedestrians ... its as simple as that . bigbadwolf
I can understand where flapjackdavey's coming. I think only small children should be allowed to use the pavement but when you see adults doing it they come across as a bit pathetic and a great big fraidy cat as well. jimmy two times
Firstly Mrs F why don't you go back and read one of my postings You would then note that I am both a driver and a cyclist. Secondly, please don't be rude. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6603-cyclists/page/2/#findComment-213417 Share on other sites
intexasatthe moment
Andy ,I'm so with you on the green advanced boxes .I too think it's safer to wait in line rather than edge up on the inside and then put myself in a dodgy position ,with cars turning left ,in the green box.Though every junction is different.I'm a cyclist of many years and find the roads more difficult now ,mainly because of the huge increase in the number of cyclists. The roads just aren't suitable for a combined volume of cyclists and cars ,a situation compounded by the condition of the roads with holes, dropped manhole covers etc. Plus the range of cycling " styles " ( some proficient ,speed supremos, some pedestrian ,some out of it plugged into headphones ,some nervous ) seems greater than that of motorists. This plus the silence with which someone on a bike approaches makes it hard to anticipate /be aware of what's happening .With motor vehicles there seems to be greater consistency ,so as a motorist you're all doing the same thing. So sad as I adore cycling .
