Anyone who promotes cruelty by going along to these events is just as bad IMO. If people didn't go and watch, these horrible people would not have any need to do this. A lot of times, it's done in poorer countries where they make money from tourism. Wealthy western nations have absolutely no excuse to be promoting and encouraging this kind of cruelty. Shame on the scum taking part and the people watching.

Louisa.

Where in the world to you get the impression that I think it's okay to set light to an animals horns, or any other part?

That is the only ridiculous question on this thread.

I've never been and never intend to go to one of these events, but it is.Not ridiculous to ask you what you think all these people deserve, being as you "Hope they get" it.

Otta,

You said to me 'what, everyone there?' implying that it is OK to be there taking part in such a thing.

And 'what do they deserve?' implying that they didn't deserve anything.

I actually hope that the whole building goes up in flames and the only survivor is the bull.

If I misunderstood you, I apologise.

Seeing any animal cruelty doesn't make me laugh. It just p*sses me off.

It's not really for you to tell me what I was or wasn't implying. I would argue that some in that video are more guilty than others.

And I made no judgement at all as to whether they deserved anything or not, I was just intrigued what you thought they deserved.

But

Is an absolutely ridiculous response.

So if you go to a bull fight you deserve to burn to death? That is what you are effectively saying.

You should join ISIS, that's the sort of treatment they dish out to people that disagree with them.

ISIS? Oh dear.

You don't like the fact that I called your post ridiculous, so do you want to argue about it for the rest of the day?

Let's just agree to disagree shall we? Before I say something I'll regret.

If a person was being burnt alive, they would know how the bull feels.

Assuming that this was a bullfight - I would agree that it's barbaric, cruel and tasteless. But to say that the spectators deserve to die is just plain moronic.

    • A couple of updates to this terrible event:   1) In 2021, two cousins (one from Penge and one from Streatham) were convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 23 years in prison. • The Commons Public Accounts Committee questioned both the CEO and MD of Capita yesterday, at their last meeting before the recess:  https://committees.parliament.uk/event/25889/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/.  In October they'd already expressed concern that Capita might not  be able to efficiently retake over responsibility for the administration within the timescale. Given the joint statement recently issued by Capita and the Cabinet Office I'm not sure that contacting an MP is going to add much, other than venting what I think most of us can probably appreciate of what those affected are likely  to be thinking and feeling; unless perhaps, and I hope it's not needed, to report on deficiencies in the immediate rescue actions.
