Plumber for central heating

I've just had a boiler fitted by Billy Hunter - really pleased with the advice and quote - all fully itemised. When he came to install the boiler he found he didn't need to do as much as initially thought in upgrading pipework so he revised the quote so he finished sooner and under budget too! Highly recommended!

Another recommendation for Peter Bennison.

Fitted our central heating years ago and maintains it every year. Cracking team he has, very hard working and even rectified poor electrical work free of charge that a supposedly highly rated electrician through the forum caused (wired horizontally on a wall which was caught when moving a radiator).

Peter is definitely one of the good guys!

Peter Bennison and his team just replaced our boiler and all our radiators. I would 100% recommend them for jobs big or small. They are very hard-working like the previous reviewer said, meticulous and very considerate (we were living in the house when they did it). Big thumbs up from us.

Another recommendation for Billy Hunter (07986 296453)who recently fitted a new combi boiler for us. Very professional, thorough, patient and reassuring with all my questions. He is a pleasure to have around, knows his stuff, clean and tidy with his work space and a very fair price against other quotes. Would not hesitate to have him back or recommend to others.

Big THANK YOU to Geoffrey, called him at 5pm on a cold Sunday, back from a few days away to a broken boiler, and in five minutes over the phone had us back up and running without breaking a sweat! Thank you very much indeed Geoffrey, excellent, clear, friendly and much appreciated.

Echoing the praise for Peter Bennison. I initially called Billy Hunter. He kindly replied to say he was fully booked til March. Also tried J Power amongst othes to no response. Pete was the first to pick up the phone. He and his apprentice were prompt (early in fact), quickly diagnosed the boiler fault, took the time to explain and demonstrate the fault, went off to pick up part, returned and fitted it. All done within four hours at a modest cost. They were tidy, respectful of my home and very affable. As a single householder I would be happy to reccommend Pete to any solo woman feeling a bit cautious about letting unknown tradesmen in. I will now be booking for their annual boiler service as I was so pleased with their professionalism. His mobile contact is 07788412880.

I can also highly recommend local plumber Niko. He's been recommended on here heaps of times by others (this is where I originally found his name), and my experience of him has been great. His number is 07818 607 583. He's honest, tells you what you need to do but also what you don't, which matters to us.

Good luck!

I'd be very happy to recommend Billy Hunter as well - he finished a job for us last week, installing a new combi boiler and 7 new radiators, most of which had to be repiped to new locations. He was a pleasure to have around the house, priced very fairly, and has done a really beautiful job.

Peter Bennison 07788412880 and his team are by far the best plumbers I have found in south east London. He was the only plumber to point out that my gas supply pipes were not wide enough to cope with the boiler I had chosen, a fact I then verified with Worcester Bosch technical services. I had 3 quotes done, his was the most reasonable, the same price as the others with no new pipework. He came in with a team of 5, did the whole thing in one day including pipework under floorboards, left the place looking better than when he arrived, and I have had no problems in the 6 weeks since. It was a pleasure to deal with such a professional team.

Momo 07401844440

No boiler on new years morning and Momo attended 3 hours after call. As I mentioned the East Dulwich Forum Momo charged the normal day rate instead of bank holiday rate. He was on time, nice to deal with and friendly. Told me how to fix the problem in the future.

Would call again.

hi,just asking if the plumber charge a call out fee.

    • I've been there for lunch a few times and the home cooked asian food (as part of Sweat Dreams cafe) is genuinely great and a must try. I think the food side of the business has been slow to be noticed but people are now realising what is actually hidden in plain sight.  As for the Aroma Lab coffee ... it is excellent, they are very welcoming and friendly (and unpretentious!). This Australian coffee snob is mightily impressed!!
    • Do you mean put out things like live mealworms for the parents to feed to the young? Or that the parents will eat the food you put out and therefore can save "wild" live food for the young rather than eating it themselves? On another matter, several weeks ago I moved my bird feeders to another part of my (very small) garden because the area they were in was totally scratched up by pigeons, and I lost several plants I had had for decades and was very fond of 😭 It is now just bare earth with no plants,  and I've got to start again. And block up a fox hole in one corner. I suspect the foxes are tunnelling beneath the garden, as there are several holes. I hope the ground doesn't suddenly collapse beneath me! I cleaned everything and put in fresh seed, but so far all that has visited the new area (that I have actually seen)  is one rather fat sparrow. And a cat. Sitting hopefully beneath the feeders 🤬 No goldfinches (I have a niger seed feeder and have seen the occasional goldfinch in the garden) and no tits, though I've heard both blue tits and great tits nearby. Plus the flock of sparrows who used to come and seem to have deserted the garden. Hopefully they will find the feeders. I've cut back some of the greenery, which doesn't help, as they have less shelter.
    • So when will we find out? Is it going to be a big reveal on some specified day? If not, why can't you tell us now?! (I'm presuming you mean the new boss of Franklins. It would be too much to hope for that the Palmerston had a miraculous return to one of its better past incarnations. Never mind the food, they could bring back the lovely quirky painted column things of over twenty (?) years ago, and remove the hideous "art" that has sadly been installed. I feel really sorry for the staff, because it can't be just my partner and I who rarely go there any more. I suppose the only hope is that it does so badly that it changes hands again and that the new hands have better taste. Sorry, all off topic.)
    • I would hope that is extremely unlikely. If people accidentally vote for someone, that's their own fault, isn't it?
