Well done guys - I imagine it was a quite an adrenalin rush if you have real money on a horse like that. I had 20 on MC just in case of a slip up but STS too short for me, although I suspect the odds reflected its class. I always maintain that horseracing is a great sport and I can admire STS performance even though not backing it myself.

I hope I have backed a thoroughbred in the 400m ladies tonight, and Richards will win, she was 1.41. I don't know what I was thinking of betting on athletics, but she seemed to coast home in her semi. Fingers crossed.

Depends how much you bet Lard - I suspect RD bet quite a lot and deserves his reward.

As for Celtic - I hope you win some money.

Bumping my own message just in case RD did not see my congrats from the previous page.....

Thanks for the congrats Mick and well done Quids too, interesting bet you've got there with Richards tonight Mick, do you know she has a history of choking on the big stage?, although to be fair she did look impressive in the semi against Ohuruogu. I think this is a race too soon after a lay off with injury for Ohuruogu so your money is looking good, unless...::o

    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
