Monday night badminton at Harris Girls Academy

Recommended Posts

Do you fancy a game of badminton on Monday nights?

We run a badminton session for adults every Monday from 7pm-9pm at Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich Homestall Road, London SE22 0NR.

There are 3 courts available and we play doubles as well as mixed and if numbers permit you also get to play a few singles matches.

The standard is intermediate and up - so if play elsewhere on a regular basis and need a new challenge or you haven?t played in a while and want to get fit again, this is the session to try.

The cost is ?6.50 for two hours (first time you only pay ?3.50) and includes shuttles as well as friendly banter.

There is plenty of parking right outside the school and we are close to various bus stops: 484 & 343(2 min walk) and 63 & 363 (4min walk away)

So just bring yourself and your racket and come by some time.

Hi Si

We've been quite busy lately but we've never turned anyone away. However, it might be that you have to sit out quite a few matches in between.

Alternatively we also play Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm and have four courts then so a better chance to give it a go if that's suitable for you?

If Saturday mornings don't work (it's the morning after a Friday night after all..) there is also another session run on Friday nights in Harris Girls Academy from 8pm-10pm which has 4 courts for matches for all abilities and with the occasional tuition (sign up online via Fun Friday Badminton on Meet up or get one of their walk in slots on the day by turning up on time).

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!
    • Hi  I really thought I'd seen a more recent post on the forum about home education meet ups. I can't find it though. • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
