Organic bush meat

I believe there is a butchers in Earls Court that sells organic Kangaroo meat, I seem to remember them saying it was only reared on south facing slopes, and therefore produced a better quality meat, something to do with more sun...

Not sure if it is Australian Kangaroo though, all those air miles with dead kangaroos in the airplane hold can't be good for anyone!

If i were you, I would try and source some quality English kangaroo, might not be reared on a south facing slope like the Aussies, but it has to be better for the environment..

When you place your order, can you see whether they stock possum? As a kiwi living so far from home I really fancy some of our local delicacy, I'll share postage with you.

At least you'll be able to stock up on Fosters at Sainsburys, Aussies love a drop of Fosters with their BBQ croc.

Fabulous - when I looked at Sanza that also reminded me of Tim Tams and Weet Bix - so I'll order some of those as well. Then we'll be set up for this visit once I've got the bush meat.

Thank you for the recommendation.

I'll be doing the BBQ next Sunday afternoon if anyone wants to come along (food provided, bring drinks though).

God, you are right, I didn't think of that, maybe they were English kangaroos?

As someone else that comes from a town near Perth, I can assure you eating kangaroo was a rarity and the nearest croc could be found about 2000km away.

Honestly, they will almost certainly be thrilled with roast beef and Yorkshire pud served in a small country pub.

    • Fired Earth as a whole went into administration unfortunately - doesn't seem to have been a Dulwich problem specifically. Does anyone know how much the rent is for these Dulwich Village storefronts?
    • It is most likely gas, with what looks like a stop cock, and although the pipe may well have been isolated later from the supply you should get in a gas safe engineer to remove it. At worst it might need to be capped off beneath the floor boards. Don't interfere with it yourself.
    • Sorry, I know this isn't strictly an East Dulwich topic but as there are so many late-Victorian properties in the area I wondered if anyone has seen anything similar in their house and can advise. We have what looks like an old gas outlet on the back wall of our daughter's bedroom which we'd like to remove, but we weren't sure whether it's safe to do so. Do I just call a registered gas engineer to check it out? And is it definitely a gas outlet or might it be something else? It's at floor level so maybe electricity but it doesn't look like any electricity outlet I've ever seen! Has anyone had any experience of dealing with something similar?
