Camper van wanted for holiday

Can I borrow anyone's camper van for a family trip (3 kids and dog) to Pembrokeshire next week? My wife has just said she is sick of camping in tents and wants me to sort something else out. I'd prefer an old VW like an orange Westfalia conversion, though I would consider a well-maintained Bongo as well. In return I can pay ?75 (100 at a push) for the week, and you can use my car whilst we're away (Peugeot 406 estate) so long as you have insurance, and I'll try to clean the van at the end of the holiday.

Thanks for the link - but ?675 for the week in the summer!? I can't afford that. I read about the new sharing economy in the Guardian last week - doesn't anyone want to share their camper van with me and my family? There must be someone - I always see them just parked on the roads around East Dulwich, just sitting there, not being used. I could go up to ?225-250 and I'll definitely take it the car washers at Sainsbury's at the end of the holiday.

I have a 1986 camper you can have for 375 a week, it is not one of those nice seventies ones, we couldn't afford one those and we have been looking at buying an estate car recently due to a growing family.

Does the estate car have a dab radio though? We only listen to radio 6 music, this is a must have.

Ok, what is it though? Is it a VW? I don't want one of those horrible beige 1980s Talbots. If it's a VW I can meet you at ?350. I've got a DAB radio that runs on 12v so I can leave in the car for you. If you're interested PM me with your address and I'll come round with the car and the cash and take the camper. We'll be back next Sunday - cheers.

    • We’re happy at purple jay Herne Hill (on greendale).    In my experience and some friends, calling lots closer to start time might get you a spot! We were lucky previously and someone changed their days for us so we could have a spot.    and have been on a waitlist for more than a year somewhere else but without chasing wouldn’t have received a spot.
    • Also adding a recommendation here for Andy (who I found here on this forum). He and another colleague decorated and replaced the floor in our living room (laminate replaced with LVT). He was really helpful in giving us suggestions beforehand, like what to prepare to make their job as efficient as possible, ideas of different styles for trims and features to help us make final decisions, and recommended places to source some of the materials we needed. Really happy we got them in - they were efficient and polite and we felt comfortable having them having them in our home. They finished in good time and we're so happy in the newly updated space! Thanks Andy.
    • Depends on which side of the tracks you are on in FH, here is the latest Rightmove listings for SE23, you can buy a nice property for well less that that magic £2m. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find.html?searchType=SALE&locationIdentifier=OUTCODE^2324&insId=1&radius=0.0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&minBedrooms=&maxBedrooms=&displayPropertyType=&maxDaysSinceAdded=&_includeSSTC=on&sortByPriceDescending=&primaryDisplayPropertyType=&secondaryDisplayPropertyType=&oldDisplayPropertyType=&oldPrimaryDisplayPropertyType=&newHome=&auction=false
    • Piplings has gone downhill massively - I know several parents who have pulled their kids out in the last 18 months. I don't have firsthand experience, but lots of negative feedback from local families. The building is also up for sale so you might find the nursery closes when that sale goes through...
