Always do what the opposition least want you to do - which in this case means pick Ramprakash (the Oval atmosphere will be electric if they make this imaginative choice). Unfortunately Ashley Giles is one of the selectors and (a) Ramps slagged him off at the start of the season and (b) he's biased towards his Warwickshire boys, which means Bell and/or Trott is certain to play.

A bit like Tom Watson at this year's Open, fairytale stories don't always come true. Still, perversely now that England are firm underdogs maybe they have a chance.

Loving the weird David Brent theme in the Guardian obo today

"David: Under "Strengths"... you've just put making up the numbers.

Ian Bell: Yeah.

David: That's your job though, that's, that's just-

Ian Bell: - Mmm. [nods]

David: No, Ian. What. I was sort of looking for your skills within your job. So is there anything else you could have put there?

Ian Bell: [shrugs]

David: Nope. Okay. Umm... Under "Weaknesses" you've put batting."

bit unfIr as the boy is doing well today

    • I don't really see the issue.  It's taking  up a small part of Goose Green.  I was able to happily eat my lunch there today witthout the fair impinging on my space or enjoyment. I presume they have chosen that location as it is near the playground, so parents with young children often go there at the weekend. • Here you go again trying to twist things saying I made personal saying I don't feel safe, but it's you firing and demanding answers, you're not the police and nor are you a moderator. No its not a reasonable question, nor is saying I should go live somewhere else.  You have a habit on here of "demanding" answers, not on.
    • Please pm if interested.    thanks
    • Is this a popular event? If great demand for this sort of event on such a small space then so be it. It is just with Peckham Common so very close by just wondering why this is considered a preferable venue for this kind of thing?
