I don't even think it's for LA tenants, it always looks like PR puff to me, and the "quotes" always look highly suspect..

I remember getting a copy through when all the Livesey stuff was going on, with the council pleading poverty.Grrrrrrr. The cheeky rotten gets(6)

Just because you are poor/live in a crap part of town/on a crap housing estate, doesn't mean that what you deserve is a bundle of badly put-together council propaganda. I really do object to this approach. It's patronising and condescending.

It is the 'Southwark 'news so obviously includes all areas in the Borough whether they interest you or not!

If it was any better people would moan about their money being squandered on higher production values - when there's bobbies on the beat to pay for or something.

Being a council is a constant catch-22 - you're going to piss off a proportion of people most of the time.

Please take the time to RE-READ my comments ta before throwing silly things like that around - I stress, I would like to see OTHER places covered other than the usual places

Woah, woah, woah... hold your horses there. A slight distinction is needed here. It is not the 'Southwark' News as in the independant 'Southwark News' that is printed weekly and costs 40p in the newsagent. This is a fantabulous publication full of interesting news, views and interviews as well as valuable information and rather interesting adverts across the borough... (excuse the blatantly obvious plug)

While the Southwark Life is the council publication that drops through the letterbox.

    • Thank you. Based on what's happened so far, I'd prefer my own surveyor for a totally independent view. I really just want peace of mind to ensure the work is done properly. It's not in my interest to delay it unnecessarily but ironically, if my neighbour continues down this road, i will delay things further!   I'll speak to the council and freeholder on Monday.   Thank you!

    • Southwark has an Anti Social Behaviour Officer who will take up issues re any Southwark tenant. The fact you spoke about a resident services officer indicates that Southwark has an interest. I have sat on committees with police and ASB officer have worked together to try and solve issues with neighbours. I will look at my records to see if I can find the name of the officer - it was a woman.
