Good local pub

I've just moved into the area (double fronted refurbished 5 bed on Melbourne Grove) and would like to know a good pub to go to to meet local people and have a good time, especially on Friday / Saturday nights when I like to go out.

There's a nice place on Old Kent Rd - just past the B&Q - called "Club Favour", you should give it a go.

Thanks for location of The Castle - I'll try that tomorrow evening. Well - I moved out to the countryside 4 years ago with the family so I could afford to send the kids to private school - but we never really felt settled so have come back, but East Dulwich has changed so much in the shortish time we've been away. I was bad at keeping up with my old friends so need to meet some new people.

It's not the Mag any more - it was the Patch after the Mag and it's now called The Lordship

Are there any other recommendations for good pubs for meeting friendly local people? I've been down the Lordship (prev. Mag) sitting at the bar the last few Fridays but not many people have spoken with me. Someone at the Lordship did mention the Gower? Has anyone been there?

Aah - the Gowlett - that's what they said - I couldn't hear properly above noise last Friday night. I'll try there this Friday night and hopefully meet some friendly locals - thanks
