  1. Strongly agree re: Benchmark. Couldn't be happier with the whole process. Thomas is very hands on, with nothing being too much trouble, and his team are excellent. Would highly recommend them.
  2. Went there today for lunch. Good food, cracking beer selection, decent music, nice staff. Look forwarding to trying it again without our 2 year old in tow!
  3. Hi, we're hoping to have some work done on our house in the New Year which will necessitate us putting some of our furniture and belongings into storage for a couple of months. Any recommendations/horror stories? Even better, does anyone have a large, secure garage we could borrow for a small fee :) Many thanks in advance
  4. Best of luck to you! A welcome addition to the area. I have no doubt you will be seeing my wife soon!!
  5. Have to third this. I used to go in town and wouldnt have thought of going local. This experience was so much more relaxing than nipping out in a lunch break with the rest of Soho. The haircutting is great and the people just lovely. The East Dulwich one lets you bring children on a Tuesday and cant do enough to keep your little one entertained. The coffee is superb!!! Oscar has cut my hair a couple of times and both times Ive been really pleased. Huge thanks to Jess for entertaining my daughter!!
  6. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a man + van for a job on Friday? We need a cot and a baby changing unit collected from N1 (between 1pm and 3pm), and delivered to SE15 later in the evening. Many thanks for any recommendations or responses. Rob
  7. Thirded - excellent service by Russell and his team
  8. A couple of years ago now we had a lintel in a fire place raised so we could fit shelving into the alcove. The builder we used used plaster board to square it all off and make it look "good". The plaster simply didnt dry in certain patches and the paint continues now to bubble and powder. We have had numerous revisits and numerous suggestions of what might be causing the problem, including the possibility that the chimney isnt ventilated properly or is leaking. The damp is not consistent with the characteristics of rising damp. One suggestion was that the plaster just absorbs the water in the kitchen's atmosphere, and unless we have this re-done using a non-salt based plaster, the problem will continue. We'd really like some specialist advice on this so we can finally fix the problem. Any recommendations of such an expert would be gratefully received. Someone who can both advise and carry out the work would be ideal. Thanks
  9. We have recently purchased a lovely French pendant light and need someone who knows what they're doing to fit it to our ceiling. Its pretty heavy so think it will require some kind of hook.
