Just wondering if anyone has taken a child around a similar age, and did they get a lot out of it?

I'm thinking of visiting with my 10 year old this week, but perhaps I should just go it alone.

There are various guidelines and restrictions on the website, but I still can't quite make up my mind.

A friend and I took our 7 yr olds who enjoyed it although I was a bit perturbed that on presented with a choice as to whether to swallow a pill containing an unknown substance (the exhibition is about 'decisions'), they looked at each other, said 'I will if you will..' and readily swallowed them. I had thought I had sensible, cautious boy, sigh.

I was also amused that the blurb about the exhibit where you can be hooked up to a trapeze said that part of it was to make the participant feel embarrassed that they were being displayed hanging 'like a sack of potatoes'. Made me wonder how much of it was the artist laughing at us fee paying participants. Anyway, it's a different thing to do and the slides were not quite as scary as they looked thank goodness.

I went with a toddler, a 5 yr old and an 8r yr old last week and we all loved it. Be aware that you can't exit by the slides if you're under 4foot, which ruled out the 5yr old, and means an adult has to forgo the lift too as you can't re-enter after you've gone down the slide. We didn't bother with the trapeze as the kids would have had to wait around for absolutely ages as the adults queued. It is quite interactive though and there's a brilliant "upside down goggles" bit which the children loved. Personally, I couldn't move a millimetre with the goggles on but it was fun. We didn't get offered the pills..
Took an 11-year old and he loved it so much we are going with friends again. Be aware that the first decision you make is which of two doors to go through. Don't wish to spoil the surprise - but if you have younger kids or anyone that doesn't like the dark then best to pick the same door so at least you are together!

    • But we’re not in Canada so why celebrate their recent election? Wasn’t their winner our Bank of England director up until his defection to his homeland of Canada? He caused chaos  in this country with his put down of everything British and his many dismal words about the effects of Brexit on this country.
    • I expect that they consider it should be a free choice what to do with your waste, and that segregating it is a waste of money, no doubt it's all a woke conspiracy.  I expect that others are more up to speed with Reform policies. I should have asked Nigel when I was drinking with him.  Well within the vicinity of him in Westminster pubs a couple of times.
    • Let's see how a Leader and party that thrive on division and demonising elements of our society actually do when they have to deliver. Let's hope that the two main parties don't consider that the best way to fight Reform is to become like then. Even less reason to visit the small town where I grew up.  Not a cause for any joy or celebration. Happy to celebrate the Canadian result.
    • The Reform Party has surely taken the Conservatives and Labour by surprise? I’ve been a Conservative voter since the age of 18 and voted for them in the General Election last Summer. Sadly Labour were elected but their policies on so many issues have been their downfall as they did not stick to them.
