Thoughts on winners? Talking points? Big upsets....any tickets going spare???

For what its worth - i think it's the most open for a long time. Any one of NZ, Aus, SA, Eng and Ire are in with a really good shout.....

Ireland are 9-1 at the moment.....

Well Ireland are ranked #2 in the world right now.

Helped by Wales putting out a scratch team on Saturday.

Not much difference in the average number of caps in each team, 28 v 22. Wales were less prepared for playing rather than being a scratch team. I don't think the rankings mean much, though if I were a Welsh fan I'd worry about getting out of my Group.

I doubt ????'s would want to fondle my ovoids. I've only got one for a start, it's a bit flat and it needs a wash. No special place for the RWC Predilection League. If there is one I'm sure it will be in the Lounge.

As for watching rugby, I'd ask nearer the time and try the What's On section.

Wales spent time in Switzerland (high altitude) and Doha (heat)

and are really really fit (I followed the podcasts which are

all about red blood cell mass) but they do not seem to be doing

much Rugby.

They even cancelled Poland as it's not needed.

Gatland's the coach though :)

I imagine all the pubs will be showing the rugby as it's a good egg game and doesn't attract bad eggs to one's establishment.

The Bishop is already advertising and Flying Pig shows rugby but not football.

Oval ball snobbery is alive and well in ED and there will be no shortage of places to watch.

We will be overrun with white red rosed shirts no doubt in a show of olympic esque proportions for once in four years rugby fans. Some not seen since 2003.

and some Red shirts - in my experience always a few

Wales fans around ED.

The Irish will no doubt be out as well :)

that is a bl***y joke. Ypu'd have to go a long ay to find someone who was more of a rugby fan than me but would never pay 2.5k for two tickets!

All of the local rugby clubs will be showing the games involving the home nations and are usually very welcoming to newcomers.

Flying pig seems to be the best pub for rugby these days though, after the demise of Hoopers and the old Mag

Seems the face value was ?350 per ticket and even ticket agencies who somehow sell them legally were selling similar tickets for around ?500. And he wanted ?1,200 each.

If there's enough interest I'll come up with something similar for the RWC. It will be probably based more on luck than judgement. So say so if you are interested and I will suggest something in time to allow for feedback/alterations.
