Personal trainer - Simone (mind over matter boxing)

If anyone is looking for a brilliant personal trainer (or group classes for that matter) then I can highly recommend Simone of Mind over matter boxing.

I'd done a couple of gym classes before but never felt I was doing the right thing for me. I found Simone through various recommendations on here and am so glad I did.

Her one to one training sessions are amazing - she pushes you to your limits so you're working at your full potential but is also very understanding and works at a pace you feel comfortable with. She is also great on a personal level, really friendly and so easy to get along with.

Also, having never done any boxing or similar before, I can honestly say it is brilliant fun. You really feel the benefits straight away and I've honestly never enjoyed exercise so much! I'm actually looking forward to our next session (a rarity for me)!

I just wanted to add to the recommendation for Mind over Matter Boxing. I have never enjoyed exercise so much, my sister and I had a personal training session and came away raving about Simone's class.

Our first session was a personal training session, just the two of us which allowed us to learn 1-on-1 some of the punches and combinations in the ring alongside fitness work. It was pretty punishing but it is so much fun that you feel pumped to push past any tiredness. Simone is really warm and affirming but will also not let you slack and keeps you working right to the last minute. We can't wait to keep learning and get fitter and really look forward to our sessions.

As an unexpected bonus, after our first session Simone weighed us in, worked out our % muscle, body fact and visceral fat so as we will be able to see our progress over time. HOWEVER, (and I think this is so important)the focus of the training is not on weight loss etc, but on fitness and technique which is such a relief and so refreshing. I come away from boxing feeling strong, positive and full of endorphins - a physical work out with very real mental health benefits which was what inspired me particularly about what Simone does.

Check out her website www.mindovermatterboxing.co.uk and book a class, it it so worth it.

    • Thanks for taking the trouble to do the calculation.  To be honest, it’s never occurred to me to report it online.  I’ll have to look into it.  I’ve just spoken to the ‘helpline’ and, after listening to ten minutes of some, admittedly, not too disagreeable jazz music, eventually got through to the call centre.  After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, during which the operator was clearly reciting from a script, the essential question of why I continue to be billed by the RV method, despite their insistence on fitting a meter three years ago, went unresolved.  At first they couldn’t confirm whether I had a meter at all (not their department) but then agreed that I do have one but that it’s ’inactive’ (despite clearly recording usage as detailed above). I was told to contact the ‘meter department’ separately on a different number (Mon-Fri only) and was then asked if I wanted to sign up for various ‘pensioner’ benefits, none of which I understood (probably because I am a pensioner) before being asked to provide ‘feedback’, which I politely declined.  Looking forward to listening to some more jazz on Monday morning though.
    • That would be 78.231 m3, that is 78,231 liters.  The average water consumption per person in the UK is around 141 liters per day I believe.  So I'd say you're doing very well 👍 Have you tried to report your reading online?
