I was overrun.. I tried to change the system... but the system changed me ;-)

Anyway, happyman, you'll be pleased to know that a whole bunch of us will be coming to the new restaurant next week as part of the curry club - usually between 8 and 15 people turn up but anyone is welcome to come along and join in

(Kel, point taken, but it's still relatively "new" to some people. Like, say... the manager)

happyman, research is good but not declaring an interest is considered very bad form.

For example, had someone posted a negative review you may have challenged it. However, it makes a significant difference to how your response is interpreted if readers know you're the manager.

Your opinion would hold slightly more weight if readers considered it independent. Traders know this, and try to post under anonymity to get extra influence for free.

This would be quite simply trying to gain an advantage through deception. Because readers don't like to be conned, it would have a very negative effect on your business.

However, it doesn't apply in this case, because you've swiftly moved to dispel any confusion.

Well done!

Happyman - do you have the same chef???

The Coriander did the best curry on Lordship Lane, so hopefully that won't change. We were regulars.

Sunday buffet was nice and hot (some other Lordship Lane curry houses have only *lukewarm* buffets because they insist to having it next to the front door so it goes cold quickly). Sunday buffet also had fab starters, prepared fresh - yum.

Service was a bit slow sometimes even when Coriander wasn't busy, so hopefully the new place will be better. Look forward to trying it out.

Okay, I'll let you into the secret. I have a moral objection to the sale of foodstuffs from public premises.

I repeat: fair enough.

    • Agree.  They also send emails out saying when they’ve received it and on day of delivery say what time in a three hour gap to expect it.
    • I have been doing a lot of posts and liking a lot - to see if we are rate limited. It appears we are to some extent, with "likes". How do people manage to get into the mid 20,000's of posts on here? That is some commitment.
    • I have not. Both things are true.
    • I have been thinking about it and what I have loosely come up with so far are sites and types. Sites Here, Comment is Free, the Independent, the BBC (difficult as their comments section is only ever on trivia), The Telegraph (less so but increasing), The times (rapidly increasing), New Statesman, Spectator (much less so but some increase) even the Daily Mail and UnHerd (perhaps even union platforms, agit-prop and "progressive" platforms, XR, "middle-East", Just Stop Oil, Reddit, Bluesky, Truth Social etc.) I am sure the AI will find more to cross-reference. Types Astro-turfers, single-issue obsessives (frequently overlap with Astro-turfers), floral enforcers, ideologues, political staff, hypocrites, luxury belief pushers, Igors and Renfields. The vast majority are; normal local residents a bit frustrated with something; those looking for a tradesman; or just the friendly saying hello and looking for a bit of community. Spartacus thank you. Although you should probably find something else  more interesting to occupy your time; my energy for this is rapidly deflating. It won't disappear and I will get it done (once I work out which AI and which parameters to use) but it might not happen for a while. I saw your comment on the PIP thread; you have to use your single worst day to apply. Being bravely determined not to be defeated (a quality most normal people find admirable and honourable) means your claim can easily be rejected or at least made difficult. "I will get up, I will walk to the shop, I will cook". Those are the tests you have to make clear you only ever fail at. Sorry but its the truth. I wish you good luck with it.
