Platform 1

I'm going to post on this thread rather than the PL one which has gotten a bit long and negative. We ate at Platform 1 recently and the food is excellent. The food is fine dining in style so if that is your cup of tea you will love it here. There is nothing else like this on Lordship Lane in my opinion. It is expensive but the price is warranted once you see the quality of the ingredients, the execution of the cooking and the thought and processes that have gone into creating, these complex and tasty little dishes. The cocktails are also excellent. The venue itself has been jazzed up nicely and they have made the most of a bad space. The garden is excellent. Painted up to be really cool. Looks like a fab place to enjoy a summers evening. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit and quite a nice occasion restaurant.

    • Whether the march still goes ahead will depend on what happens in the next couple of days, I imagine. Things have looked hopeful before, but fingers crossed this time is different. Have you actually read the posts above? Do you understand the difference between antisemitism and being against the Israeli government killing thousands of civilian adults and children? Do you understand why people were intending to demonstrate against our own government's involvement in killing thousands of civilian adults and children by supplying arms to Israel? It seems not. Why on earth would a march "still go ahead "to demonstrate antisemitism"?
    • Now there is a peace agreement, the only reason this would still go ahead is to demonstrate antisemitism.
    • Sadly everyone's in East Dulwich is. The move has been nothing but a complete disaster for us. And now  I gather that the office isn't even open most of the time, if you could get to it. It must be so disheartening to be a postie there knowing your bosses are forcing you to give a poor service by prioritising more lucrative parcel delivery. That was so much a privatisation too far.
    • I am currently dealing with numerous cases of clay shrinkage subsidence in Dulwich, and have had some success in getting TPOs lifted. I also agree with the comments about being cautious about getting insurers involved and I’m in the Insurance Post Magazine this week discussing this subject. I have written a blog on my website about it too. It’s a huge problem which is currently escalating enormously. UK Subsidence (clay shrinkage and trees) Fb group has experts on it (incl myself) giving free advice and is a useful resource. My Insurer has withdrawn subsidence cover.pdf
