where to go for dinner - recommendations pls

I want to take my hubby out for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate his birthday.

We're not made of money(!) and there are so many options I dont know which to choose... recommendations gratefully received!

Toasted, Pedler, Artusi, and Franklins are all very good.

A notch cheaper, you could try Miss Tapas, Peckham Refreshment Rooms, Begging Bowl.

Also over the hill in Camberwell... Camberwell Arms, Angels & Gypsies, Crooked Well... all excellent.

Pedler is my favourite. Good prices. Interesting and varied menu. Pretty cocktails and drinks make it feel special.

Peckham Bazaar! In Consort Road just before you get to Nunhead. See Fay Maschler's review in Evening Standard. Chef John is amazing and a great team. Food unbelievably and consistently scrumptious and prices reasonable for the quality:
